Why they needed a custom
iPhone app?
LinkedIn has revamped its recruiter tool in their Custom iPhone App, but why? This is an interesting question which was answered in the latest company’s ConnectIn recruiting summit. First of all, it is LinkedIn’s trademark to keep introduction features for job seekers and employers alike. We found Dan Shapero quoting “it’s pretty much a jungle out there”. Shapero is the global vice president of talent solution and insights for LinkedIn. He emphasized the need of enhanced tools for recruiters and job seekers for better results. Shapero believes, the revamped recruiter’s tool in the iPhone app is the right step in the right direction.
As we all know that modern age is all about handy apps. You
need a customized iPhone app to reach people, whether you are a startup company
or a world’s largest professional social network, like LinkedIn. The revamped
recruiter’s tool in the app is focussing three strategies which are as under:
New Recruiter Profile
This part of the revamp
is built around the concept of helping recruiters with more actions. These
actions are meant to create a consumer product effect. The adjustments include
increased numbers of call to action in the revamped recruiter tools. For
example, sending a message and saving candidates to the clipboard for follow
up.
Mobile
According to LinkedIn professionals, they are reaching their
“mobile moment” due to the increased use of LinkedIn mobile app. LinkedIn has
reported that 41% of its total visitors are reaching them using their
customized iPhone app. This force LinkedIn to launch the recruiter’s tool on
Android based devices as well.
Recommendations
The focus of LinkedIn has also been shifted a bit from outside
to inside. The new proposed recruiter’s profile will focus on the talent
promotion recommendations within side companies for internal promotions, across
all departments. This feature has already been tested with a handful of
companies and yielded a good result.
Conclusion
According to the new strategy proposed by LinkedIn pros, each
part of the strategy is built while focusing modern day requirements for
recruiting or job seeking process.
